Construction Education Council

Professional Development and the Construction Education Council (CEC) are pleased to offer a 10-day comprehensive Project Management course designed specifically for mechanical contractors. This Gold Seal compatible course includes sessions on estimating, communications, administration, scheduling and much more!


Drug Nutrient Interaction Continuing Education Program

Waterloo’s Drug-Nutrient Interactions program is a unique professional development opportunity for pharmacists, dietitians and other health professionals. Participants will improve their ability to identify, prevent, and manage clinically relevant drug-nutrient interactions. This online course allows you to learn at your own pace, at the time and place of your choosing. Delivered by the University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy and Professional Development, in collaboration with Dietitians of Canada, it is Practice-based Evidence in Nutrition (PEN) and Canadian Council on Continuing Education in Pharmacy  (CCCEP) approved.


Economic Development Program

The University of Waterloo and the Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC) have created a long term partnership to deliver a national certification program for practicing professionals and those interested in the broad field of economic development. Community economic development, regional economic development, and sustainable development initiatives all require strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, economic analysis and evaluation tools. A Certificate, Diploma and Fellowship in Economic Development are available through the courses and seminars offered.


OCAD University

Professional Development, in partnership with OCAD University is now offering the following online course:

Introduction to User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) Design

This course introduces UI and UX, the essential tools required to create compelling user experiences for desktop, tablet, and mobile users. Students will learn to plan and design effective user interfaces based on aesthetic, psychological, scientific, and technological considerations. Topics include user-centred design, identifying requirements, and information architecture. Students will build mock-ups and create wireframes to test the user experience.

This online course is delivered by OCAD University through a series of tutorials and related assignments which you can complete at your own pace. The instructor will conduct a live seminar, which will be recordeded and available to students to access at other times. Successful completion is determined by attendance.

After registration with Waterloo, we will forward your registration information to OCAD. You will receive login information, including userid and password, by email directly from OCAD within 2 business days. uWaterloo Pharmacy - MOAT Primary Care Certificate Program

The University of Waterloo is pleased to offer professional development for pharmacists, registered nurses and nurse practitioners. We are currently offering a Primary Care Certificate Program in the Management of Oral Anticoagulation Therapy (MOAT). This non-credit program is offered in partnership with Professional Development, the School of Pharmacy and the Centre for Family Medicine.
