Withdrawal, Transfer and Refund Policy

In-class Courses

To withdraw or transfer from an in-class course, please email your request to makeithappen@uwaterloo.ca. Requests received 14 days before the course start date will result in a 100% refund, after that time no refunds will be issued. You can substitute another participant if you notify us at least 2 business days before the start date.

Online Courses

If you are unable to complete an online Ed2Go course please email the details to makeithappen@uwaterloo.ca

  • if you contact us before your 4th lesson is released, you can transfer to the next offering of the course, or we can withdraw you and give you a full refund less a $20 (+tax) administrative charge.
  • if you contact us after the 4th lesson is released and before the class ends, your registration can be transferred to the next offering for a $75 (+tax) administrative charge.
  • no refunds are provided after the 4th lesson is released.

Advanced Online Certificates

Data Science Courses

You can withdraw from these courses, or transfer to the next start date, up to 14 days after the start date. You must request this in writing (makeithappen@uwaterloo.ca) before 4:30 pm (EST) on the 14th day. Please indicate if you want a refund or a transfer. There is an administrative fee of $75 (+ applicable taxes) for either option.

After the 14th day your only option is to audit the course. This means you will not receive a refund but will retain access to the course materials for the duration of the course and you will not receive a grade.

Program Changes and Course Cancellations

Professional Development reserves the rights to limit registration in any course; make changes to any printed or online information on programs, instructors and course information; and cancel courses for which enrolment does not reach the required minimum, or any other unavoidable factors. You will be notified by telephone or email, and a full refund issued in the event that a course is cancelled.
